Brethren:
July is the time to reflect the commitments made for the year.
The Master gets the opportunity to change his leadership philosophy, reevaluate his goals, readjust the programs planned and most importantly, assess the depth our membership.
Our focus on the community exposure and support of youth groups has been steadily increasing. The programs geared to improving our involvement in both areas have important long-term effects for the Lodge and Masonry in general.
The events focusing on Child ID and Burbank Parade offered some interesting results. From a genuine conversation on Masonic ancestry to questions about the youth programs, from misinformation on Freemasonry to praises on the work we do for the community, the reactions have been mixed. Key to our Lodge is that the Burbank community is asking questions.
We have seen higher attendance to our youth programs. The work done by our Youth Group Leaders and the parents involved offers children a unique opportunity in organizational activities, creates structure in their life, improves their public speaking skills and establishes important Masonic value system. These programs are vitally important to the Lodge, the membership and the society at large.
Burbank Lodge is going through changes. A continuous and clear focus on our goals and periodic reevaluation of activities planned will insure that we will reach the destination sought.
Fraternally, Edward
