Trestleboard Messages for September 2003

From the East

Brethren:
As we move into September, we begin to get back into the swing of things both at home and at lodge.
We will be having two degree nights this month, an Entered Apprentice and a Fellowcraft. Please try to make it out to support these new members, your Brothers and your Lodge.
The summer BBQ at McCambridge was a big success with a great turnout. My thanks to all who attended and helped out, especially Brothers Halm & Cunningham, and Brother Halm's Lady Jamie.
This years Grand Lodge Communication will be held in San Francisco October 12th to the 15th. All Master Masons are encouraged to attend. As usual, there will be daily events for all ladies in attendance. Call the lodge for more details. I plan to present a review of this year's resolutions at the October Stated Meeting.
Included with this month's Trestleboard you also received a survey form. I ask that you take a moment to fill it out and return it to the Secretary as soon as possible. This survey will not only help to keep our records up to date, but will also help with those of the Grand Lodge and also curb the expense of return mail and forwarding.
      Have a great month!
Fraternally, Greg

From the West

Brethren!
Welcome back! I hope all of you are enjoying the hot summer months. We are back in full swing this month with degrees and Lodge activities. Be sure to check the calendar of events for dates and times.
The Stated Meeting for August followed our summer picnic for which we had a great turnout of Brothers, family and friends. As usual, the topic of conversation at the meeting was the property on Glenoaks and Olive. As most of you know, this process has had a roller-coaster ride filled with more twists and turns than the real thing. We are, however, making headway. For those of you who were in attendance for the meeting, I want to thank you for your time and patience as it did last a bit longer than usual. The decisions made at these meetings are vital to our Lodge's survival, and it is important for all the Brothers of our Lodge that are able to attend to do so.
The annual trip to Grand Lodge is scheduled for October. There are many new resolutions to consider and for those of you who are interested, please take a look at the Grand Lodge of California's website where they can be downloaded.
Have a great month, I look forward to seeing you all again in Lodge.
Fraternally, Jason

From the South

Brethren:
As Summer makes way for Fall we look forward to Labor Day, Back to School, and in some cases, Back To Lodge. We had a Fabulous turn out for our family bar-b-que in the park. Thanks to everyone who helped, but especially to Jason Cunningham. We served over 100 Hamburgers and Hot Dogs and had around 60 people attend. I had a great time and really appreciated all the positive feedback we received.
We had a rather productive Stated Meeting this August in which several important decisions and points we made. The ball is still rolling on the Glenoaks and Olive property and we need all of you to continue to attend the Stated Meetings. We still have a long road ahead of us on the issues related to this property.
I will once again ask all of you to do your Junior Warden a very big favor. If you are going to be attending a dinner, any dinner, give the Secretary a call at 818-848-3750 and let him know you want to attend. Call him at least a couple of days ahead of time so we have time to include you in our planning. If we don't know you're coming we can't buy enough food for you.
We will be headed to Grand Lodge soon and I encourage all of you to attend Lodge to hear all about the proposed changes to Masonry in California. Only through your active involvement can Masonry survive.
Fraternally, Tim
