Brethren!
Happy Holidays to all! Wasn't November a wonderful month? We had elections at the Stated Meeting, Past Masters Night, Brother Richard Wagner was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. We presented 50 year awards, finished our officer qualifications, and we ended the month with a Happy Thanksgiving! A great Great month Worshipful Halm! I would like to thank my lodge once again for expressing their confidence in me by electing me to serve as
Master for the 2006 Masonic year. As stated before, I am very excited about this upcoming year, and I am very proud to say that my home is here in Burbank Lodge No. 406.
One of my big goals for next year is membership. I would like to strive to initiate new members, but more importantly, relighting the fire of Masonry in the members that we already have. I would really like to make non-active members more active and also get First and Second Degree Masons raised to that Sublime Degree of Master Mason. The future of Burbank Lodge, and Masonry in general, lies in our newest members. They bring new ideas and fresh
thoughts to our Lodge. Our newest members have new friends, new families, and new neighbors to spread the Masonic word to. They are our future. So please, attend our degrees and make our new members ascending through their degrees feel welcome. Let them know that we are glad that they are a part of Burbank Lodge, and a vital part of our Masonic Family. We need them, and they need you!
In closing, I to wish everybody a wonderful and safe Holiday Season. We all have so much to be thankful for and hopefully this Holiday Season we all can take the time to enjoy everything that we appreciate so much. This year I have received my Christmas gift early when Kelly and I were blessed with our bundle of joy in May. Dillon has reminded us how wonderful and precious life really is, and I hope that everybody can experience the same sensation of
joy this Holiday Season!

From the South
Brethren:
December has arrived and we are coming to the close of our 2005 Masonic year. We will be having a holiday party on December 22nd. Everyone is welcome to attend. We will have a buffet style dinner provided by the Lodge. No reservations are required, but be on time if you would like to eat. Remember to bring an unwrapped present for the Children's Shrine Hospital.
For all of you football fans out there we sure have had a great College Football year. I am sure most of you are USC Trojan fans, but if you are not I won't think much less of you. Since I am writing this article in early November, I do not know the final outcome for the USC season, but my prediction will be that we will go undefeated. The perfect season, with a perfect ending beating UCLA again! If this is true the Trojans will be on their way to
the National Championship game at the Rose Bowl. Don't forget to watch this great game in January.
I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah and a Happy New Year. I hope everyone has the opportunity to spend this special time of year with their families, friends and loved ones.
Fraternally,
John T. Brennan,
Junior Warden
From The Quarry's:
GRANDMA'S CURES
Did You Know That?
Kill fleas instantly.
Dawn dish washing liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your dog's bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations. Goodbye fleas!
Rainy day cure for dog odor.
Next time your dog comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal with Bounce or any dryer sheet, instantly making your dog smell springtime fresh.
Eliminate Ear Mites.
All it takes is a few drops of Wesson corn oil in your cat's ear. Massage it in, and then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the cat's skin, smothers the mites, and accelerates healing.

From the Secretary's Desk
Brethren:
A dues remittance envelope was sent to all of the Brethren of the Lodge in October. The dues remain at $64.00. If you did not receive your remitance envelope you may send your check c/o of the Secretary to the Lodge. Any changes of address with phone numbers and e:mail addresses are greatly appreciated.
Pursuant to the By-Laws of the Lodge and Section 19040 Article IX, of the California Masonic Code, dues are payable in advance on the first day of January. It is the desire of the Lodge to remain solvent and retain the membership of all Brethren in the greatest Masonic Lodge in California. The Brethren and Officers desire each and every Brother remain a current member of Burbank Lodge. Your dues maintain the operation of your Lodge. The Brethren of
the Lodge thank you for your caring.
Also, The Midnight Mission is having their annual clothing drive. If you have any clothes you would like to donate, bring them to the lodge and the clothes will be taken to the Masonic Service Bureau or to the Midnight Mission. Thank from our less fortunate friends.
Fraternally,
Norm Furman, Secretary

OPERATION PHONE HOME
Operation Phone Home is a campaign designed with the goal of providing prepaid international phone calling cards to as many military men and women serving overseas as can be reached. It will be an ongoing effort as long as American Military Personnel serve overseas, particularly in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Balkans.
The Masonic Service Association, on behalf of the Masonic fraternity, has entered into an agreement with the USO to participate in this program. MSA has met all of the requirements necessary to have a web site presence and a link to the USO web page and to have a Masonic Logo on the phone card. The card will include the logo of the USO, the participating phone company (AT&T), and the American Flag. On the left side of the card will appear the Square and
Compasses and the words Compliments of America's Freemasons. (Image below)
Anyone wishing to participate in this program may send a donation marked Operation Phone Home to:
The Masonic Service Association
8120 Fenton Street
Silver Spring, MD 20910-4785.
All of the monies received will go to this program and an accounting will be made by MSA at the end of each calendar year.
Or go to http://freemasonry.org and follow the links.
Thank you very much for your help!
