Brethren!
Are you ready for the 2006 Masonic year at Burbank Lodge? Our newly installed Master Ken Barnes has a great year planned for everyone. It will be filled with lots of fun and fellowship. I hope to see old faces around the lodge as well as some new ones too. If you are one of our members who have not had the opportunity to come to Lodge in awhile then make sure to follow the calendar and find an activity that interest’s you and come on down to the Lodge.
I look forward to my year as Senior Warden. I am glad that I can now focus on more things than food and refreshment. Serving you as your Junior Warden was a pleasure and very rewarding, but it is a time consuming position. Let’s make sure to support our newly installed Junior Warden, Marc Canterbury.
As I said in my first trestleboard article after I was installed Junior Warden, one of my goals before I reach the East would be to meet or talk to every brother on our roster so I can familiarize myself with that person and say that I know him. I have had a little success with this over the past year, and will continue this year hopefully achieving my goal.
Susan and I look forward to seeing everyone at this month’s upcoming events.
Fraternally,
John T. Brennan,
Senior Warden

From the South
Brethren:
First, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for electing me as Junior Warden. Everybody had a wonderful time at installation and what an honor for Worshipful Barnes with the successful turnout! I would especially like to thank Worshipful Andy DeCaro, his wife Gail, Judy Barnes, and my wife, Laurie for all of their hard work and preparation for the Installation Dinner. Without them, it would have been impossible to pull off such a wonderful
evening
for Worshipful Barnes.
The beginning of 2006 proves to be a very busy one at the lodge. I am very excited about the upcoming year and the special events that have been planned. Worshipful Barnes will be keeping me very busy, as dinners will be served prior to every stated meeting. As always, reservations are required by either calling the lodge or myself at (661) 257-1598. As an alternative, fish will be provided at each meal, which must be requested when you make your
reservation.
The cost of each dinner will be $10.00 per person and reservations must be made no later than the Tuesday prior to each stated meeting.
Mark your calendars, as February will be filled with dinners. The annual Sweetheart’s Dinner will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2006. Social Hour will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m., and an evening of entertainment. As always, there will be no charge for the ladies at this meal and $10.00 for all others. Please make your reservations no later than Wednesday, February 22, 2006.
Once again, I look forward to seeing everyone at these great events planned for February.
Fraternally,
Marc S. Canterbury
Junior Warden

A Message From the Master’s Lady
Hello Friends,
I would first like to congratulate Burbank Masonic Lodge 406 and its officers for a beautiful installation last month. Ken and I would have not been able to put together the installation with out all of your help, so Thank You to all the people that helped in any way to make the night such a success. In my opinion, there is nothing more important then friends and family, and that is what I am surrounded by when I am at the Burbank Masonic Center.
I must tell you that I have been looking forward to the 2006 year for a long time now, and Ken and I are very excited for all the fun activities we have planned. I would like to encourage all ladies that are involved with Masonry in some way, to come and support the men of Masonry. A great dinner will be planned for the first Thursday of every month, which is their Stated Meeting. After which the Woman will have an event immediately following dinner in
the
dinning hall.
For the month for February we will be having a woman by the name of Pearl come and give us ladies a demonstration of how to make beautiful chocolates, just in time for Valentines Day. Pearl will be bringing supplies, so we what to make sure we have enough for all. So, if you would like to participate please let our Secretary, Norm Furman know when you make your dinner reservations. If there are any suggestions that you might have for a Woman’s event
please do
not hesitate to call me. I look forward to hearing about new ideas and would love to learn something new.
I would also like to mention that we will be putting on a Woman’s Tea in the month of May in honor of Mothers Day. I am looking for a few people that would like to be on the committee for this event, so if that is something you are interested in doing please let me know by February 18th.
Love Always,
Kelly Barnes
The Worshipful Master's Lady
OPERATION PHONE HOME
Operation Phone Home is a campaign designed with the goal of providing prepaid international phone calling cards to as many military men and women serving overseas as can be reached. It will be an ongoing effort as long as American Military Personnel serve overseas, particularly in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Balkans.
The Masonic Service Association, on behalf of the Masonic fraternity, has entered into an agreement with the USO to participate in this program. MSA has met all of the requirements necessary to have a web site presence and a link to the USO web page and to have a Masonic Logo on the phone card. The card will include the logo of the USO, the participating phone company (AT&T), and the American Flag. On the left side of the card will appear the Square and
Compasses and the words Compliments of America's Freemasons. (Image below)
Anyone wishing to participate in this program may send a donation marked Operation Phone Home to:
The Masonic Service Association
8120 Fenton Street
Silver Spring, MD 20910-4785.
All of the monies received will go to this program and an accounting will be made by MSA at the end of each calendar year.
Or go to http://freemasonry.org and follow the links.
Thank you very much for your help!
