Brethren!
We have good news and bad news! The good news is that ¼ of our Masonic year is over and it has been a great success. Stated Meeting attendance is up and we have had some great degrees. The bad news, April 15th, taxes are due. Someone once wrote, the only things that are certain in life are change, death, and taxes.
Last month, I had the honor of passing Brothers Jeremy Chongco and Joshua Cannon to the degree of Fellowcraft. I thank Worshipful Brennan for allowing me to sit in the East. It is truly an honor to do this. In the past I have had the privilege to sit in the East in preparing myself to become master next year, if elected.
I thank the members of the lodge last month for voting to send Laurie and I to the Senior Warden’s Retreat. These retreats are very important for both the Junior and Senior Warden’s to attend, as they provide valuable information to run the lodge.
At this time the Child ID program has not gotten off the ground, as there have been no events this year where these services are required. As the summer approaches, I expect that events will unfold.
Lastly, I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to Worshipful Vern Ross, Past Master of Magnolia Park 618, and Worshipful Chris Barnes, Past Master of Burbank 406 and his wife Judy, on the loss of their beloved wife and mother. I have known Juanita Ross for many, many years, and she could always bring a smile upon everyone’s faces with her witty remarks and sense of humor. She will be surely missed.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone in April. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you, don’t hesitate to call me.

Brethren:
April promises to be a spectacular month for Burbank Lodge. The Stated Meeting on Thursday, April 5th will feature Prime Rib and an alternative selection a fresh mystery fish, caught that day at Costco’s. Appetizers will be ready for you on the counter when you walk in at 6:00 p.m. The dinner bell rings at 6:30 p.m. Men, remember, $10.00 dollars and a reservation gets you and your Lady in.
Saturday, April 21st, Worshipful John Brennan and his First Lady, Susan is hosting “Prom Night!” at the Burbank Masonic Center. This posh squeal to Prom Nights past will feature live entertainment, dancing, plenty of refreshments and STEAK AND LOBSTER! Also, a King and Queen of the Prom will be elected before the end of the evening. The Prom starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends 11:00 p.m. The cost of admission is $ 50.00 dollars per couple and $ 30.00 dollars for a single person. Admission cost for those who show up at the door with out a reservation is $ 35.00 dollars. Tickets are on sale through the Master and Junior Warden. Dress attire should be formal, and guys don’t forget the corsage for your date. Mom and Dad won’t be around this time around to supervise. (Or pay for it, for that matter.) I was the picture of class at my Prom, back in ‘76. I wore a canary yellow, polyester tuxedo with white dress shoes. I looked like a six foot tall banana split with long side burns. “Save a dance for me baby!”
At the March Stated Meeting Dinner, I had the pleasure of working in the kitchen with Brother Hank Williams and his wonderful family. As I’m sure you remember, Bro. Williams prepared a delicious Corn Beef and Cabbage dish. Beginning at 12:30 in the afternoon, Hank worked for hours preparing his magnificent pre- St. Patrick’s day dinner. The meal was appreciated by all. Brother Williams has been a Mason for over 50 years, yet he worked in the kitchen that night like a renewed Mason on a mission. “Thanks Hank.”
Chronological age has little meaning in the Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons. All men travel on the same level of time. From the moment he is raised a Master Mason to the day he leaves us for the Lodge on High, he is a Brother, an equal, relevant and loved.
Fraternally,
Jeffrey W. Yates,
Junior Warden

Brethren:
We have entered into the Second quarter of the Masonic Year and and I have not received dues from some of the Brethren. Hopefully, you will remit your dues (only $64.00) in the remittance envelope previously sent at the end of 2006 and forward to the Lodge.
Check your dues receipt and verify if your dues are current. If not current, remit your dues for 2007 along with any dues past due for prior years.
Pursuant to the By-Laws of the Lodge and Section 19040 Article IX, of the California Masonic Code, dues are payable in advance on or before the first day of January. It is the desire of the Lodge to remain solvent and retain the membership of all Brethren in the greatest Masonic Lodge in California.
The Brethren and Officers desire each and every Brother remain a current member of Burbank Lodge. The Brethren of the Lodge thank you for your consideration and ACTION.
Fraternally,
Norm Furman, Secretary
